There are very few other significant ball clubs in the association today that are as darling as the New York Yankees. This rich-in-history group was established in 1901. Starting as the Baltimore Orioles when the American League became an integral factor, the group gathered its sacks and moved to New York. Once there in 1903, the group name was changed to the Highlanders. In 1913, the group changed its name one last an ideal opportunity to the Yankees.
With the name change off the beaten path, the time had come to plan a few outfits and logos to give the New York Yankees their “look.” The incredible, all-American look of the first New York Yankees logo highlighted a baseball, shrouded in “Yankees” composed right over the front in red. To consolidate however many baseball and Americana components as could reasonably be expected into one logo, a slugging stick was then utilized as the back aspect of the letter “K” in “Yankees.” For the masterpiece, a red, white and blue Uncle Sam cap was then positioned on the finish of the bat.
